Welcome to Act on Cancer Together (ACT)
ACT is a local partnership project working to address staggering health inequalities in Brighton and Hove.
Did you know that the uptake of cancer screening in our city is below the national average? Or that cancer is a major contributor to the 11-year life expectancy gap between our city’s deprived and affluent areas?
TDC are working with the Hangleton and Knoll Project, Macmillan Cancer Support, NHS and BHCC to spread awareness about different cancers; support people and communities to understand self-checking and access screening; deliver tailored training, presentations, and facilitate discussions on cancer with various groups.
We know it can be scary trying to find out more about cancer, but our friendly team are available to talk to you about going for a cancer screening test, dealing with a diagnosis, staying healthy, or answer any questions you might have about cancer and you, your family, or your community.
If we don’t know the answer, we will know someone who does. Get in touch on 01273 234769 or [email protected]
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Check yourself regularly and remind friends and family to do the same – it could save lives. Text REMIND ME to 82228 for a free monthly text reminder to check your chest from CoppaFeel!
Take our breast cancer quiz and be entered into a prize draw to win goodies from Wide Eye.
