Act on Cancer Together workacross Brighton and Hove to support people with understanding the early signs of cancer, feel confident about going for cancer screenings, and navigate the services available if they or someone close to them is diagnosed.
Our goal is to make sure that people from all backgrounds can access the relevant information and support they need, so cancer can be found early and treated quickly. We’re here to reduce health inequalities and support healthier communities.
In October we mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, encouraging people to learn about breast self examination and to go for breast screening if they are eligible. Screening and self-examination save lives.
Last year we were lucky enough to bring together three amazing women who all have different experiences of breast cancer, to discuss the role screening played in their diagnosis and treatment.
Act on Cancer Together is a local partnership between The Trust for Developing Communities and The Hangleton and Knoll Project. It’s supported by Macmillan Cancer Support, Brighton and Hove Public Health and NHS Sussex.
