Our Albanian Engagement Worker, Sonila Deda provides dedicated support to the Albanian Community in Brighton and Hove helping people with access to a wide range of services and support. Of her work in 2023, she said:
I have continued to engage with the Brighton and Hove Albanian community over the past year, and have supported the Albanians in Sussex group to organise various activities and events including the Albanian Independence Day event. This wonderful event, which was held in November 2023, was attended by over 240 people, and was an evening of food, dance, connection and celebration and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended. It was overwhelming to see so many happy faces and all generations celebrating together regardless of struggles, distance, dialect's and beliefs and highlighted how important it is to continue to hold events that bring our community together.

We also support young people through projects like boxing and footballs clubs and with our wider programme of youth activities including our youth bus.
